Brand Transformation
Leading brand transformation and creative direction that repositioned a luxury beauty brand for international retail growth.
01 — Overview
Branche Beauty had formulations strong enough to compete in luxury skincare and a visual identity that undersold them. I led the creative transformation — one consistent brand system across consumer, wholesale, and digital — that gave international retail partners the confidence to expand distribution, including a new annual partnership in Dubai.
02 — Business Challenge
Branche Beauty had a strong product portfolio but a visual identity that no longer matched the quality of its formulations. Product photography, campaign assets, sales collateral, and digital content lacked consistency and failed to communicate a premium positioning — a gap that was limiting the brand's credibility with international retail partners and capping its growth.
The mandate wasn't to reinvent the products. It was to transform how customers and distributors perceived the brand, while protecting the integrity of a product line that already worked.
03 — Opportunity
The opportunity was to reposition the brand through a more elevated creative vision — one that would resonate with modern consumers and give international retail partners the confidence to expand distribution. A brand transformation, not a product change, was the fastest path to the growth already latent in the portfolio.
04 — Research
An audit of every customer- and distributor-facing asset — product photography, sales decks, social, packaging — surfaced the real problem: no single piece was weak, but no two pieces looked like they belonged to the same company. That inconsistency, not the product itself, was what international buyers were reacting to when they hesitated on distribution.
05 — Strategy
I set the direction for redefining the brand's visual language across every customer touchpoint, and held the Creative Director and creative team to it. Rather than changing the products themselves, the strategic call was to build a more aspirational, editorial-driven identity — the conviction being that in luxury beauty, consistency reads as confidence, and confidence is what retail partners are actually buying when they say yes to distribution.
“Luxury brands are often transformed not by changing the product, but by changing the story they tell.”

06 — Creative Direction
That meant building a cohesive creative ecosystem — from photography and video to sales enablement and digital marketing — that positioned Branche Beauty as a modern luxury skincare brand, not a series of disconnected campaigns. The direction had to hold up in a distributor's conference room and a customer's Instagram feed equally, since either one seeing a different brand than the other would have undercut the story in both places.
07 — Execution
Delivering a unified brand system meant aligning functions that had previously worked in isolation — creative and photography direction, sales and distributor relations, and digital marketing all had to be brought under one point of view. I led that alignment directly with the Creative Director and worked with sales leadership to make sure distributor-facing materials carried the same standard as consumer-facing campaigns.
08 — Marketing Rollout
The transformation touched every customer-facing asset — from lifestyle and product photography to video, sales presentations, and distributor collateral — reduced to one consistent brand system rather than left as a growing pile of one-off deliverables. The same system ran across consumer marketing, wholesale materials, distributor presentations, and digital channels alike, and became the foundation for ongoing marketing rather than a one-time campaign — supporting product launches, retailer presentations, and the international growth that followed.

A seasonal campaign built on the refreshed creative system — the same standard, applied again.

Beyond the numbers: the brand's perceived value rose without a single change to the product portfolio, and photography, video, social, and sales collateral now speak in one consistent voice.
10 — Lessons Learned
Perceived value is a leadership decision before it's a design decision. Luxury isn't created by price. It's created by consistency — the product didn't change, the standard did.
This project sharpened my thinking about what luxury actually is as a business discipline, not just an aesthetic. It's easy to conflate luxury with expense — better photography, more polished campaigns, a bigger budget. What I learned instead is that luxury is a promise of consistency, held under pressure, across every place a customer or partner encounters the brand. The moment that promise breaks anywhere — a distributor deck that looks like a different company, a social post that doesn't match the website — the premium story stops being credible everywhere else.
It also taught me about influence without authority. I wasn't the Creative Director's manager, and distributor relations wasn't my function to own — but the brand needed one point of view, and someone had to hold it even in rooms where they weren't formally in charge. Leading that way, through conviction and consistency rather than title, is a muscle I've relied on in every organization since.
